Step 1: Download and Install ReiBoot on PC or Mac

Run ReiBoot on your computer and connect iPhone to computer. Once the device is recognized, click 'Repair Operating System'.

Note: To ensure repairing iOS system successfully, it's highly recommended connect your iOS device to the computer using the Apple original lightning USB cable.

Step 2: Click 'Fix Now' to Proceed

Then you'll see an interface like below, click 'Fix Now' to go to the next step.

Note:

1. If your iOS cannot be detected, ReiBoot will guide you to put your iPhone into recovery mode first.

2. However, when the device still not showing up even in recovery mode, you can click the 'Enter DFU mode' about how to put iPhone into DFU mode.

3. By default, Tenorshare ReiBoot Pro runs the Standard Mode which won't cause any data loss. However, if the Standard Mode failed to repair iOS system issues, you can choose 'Deep Repair'. This mode repairs system more deeply but wipe all data in your device.

Step 3: Download Firmware Package

In the following firmware download interface, just click 'Download' to start downloading iOS 14 firmware package. If you want to change the save path, click 'Browse'.

Tip: If you failed to download the firmware package, you can click 'Copy' to download it through browser.

If you have already downloaded the firmware package on computer, just click 'Select' to import the firmware manually.

The firmware package occupies about 5 GB, so it takes you some time.

Step 4: Start iOS System Recovery

Once the firmware package is downloaded on your computer, you can click 'Repair Now' to start system recovery.

After the repair is done, your iOS device will automatically reboot. Then do as the picture said.

Good news for jailbreak fans, the pwn dfu tool iReb is now available for Mac OS X.

To install a custom or unsigned firmware on your iDevice you will need to put it in PWN DFU mode other wise you might get an iTunes error.

The best tool to do this is iReb, but has previously only been available for Windows. However developer iH8Sn0w has now made a version for Mac OS X. It will run on Mac OS X 10.4 upwards and covers OS 3 to iOS 6.

The Windows version has a pretty GUI and instructions on how to enter DFU mode, where as the Mac version is plain, runs in a terminal window, and doesn’t offer instruction, but it works just as well. Download it here.

DFU Instructions

As you will see above, once your iDevice is connected iReb will wait for DFU mode before it starts to pwn. To enter DFU, connect your iDevice and turn it off.

Then hold the power button for 3 seconds, as soon as you see the Apple logo hold the home button (whilst still holding the power button).

Count 10 seconds and then let go off the power button. Keep holding the home button until iTunes and iReb kick in to life which is usually about 20 seconds. If it doesn’t, then you might need to restart the whole process.

If all has gone well you are ready to install custom firmware such as whited00r or a tweaked ipsw made using sn0wbreeze, by holding ALT and clicking on the ‘Restore iPhone’ in iTunes and selecting your ipsw.
